and medicines (such as heartworm preventative or for any ongoing treatment), crate, collar, leash, tags, etc. You provide shelter, love, socialization and house training when necessary. Sometimes it is hard to give up a dog you have fostered. Foster-parents have priority when it comes to adoption, but we hope they continue to foster dogs. You may worry about getting too attached to your foster dog. I have found it much easier to give up a dog when you KNOW that you have helped it find a good home and that you are giving it up because that was YOUR role in its’ life. It can be a bittersweet, happy experience that gives you the satisfaction of knowing you have helped save one dog and now can make room for another.
